Addiction Support | BSW(c)
As a person in recovery, Ainslie fully appreciates the challenges that many individuals and their supports can experience in seeking help. She intimately understands the challenges in navigating recovery and wants to pay forward the positive support she received. She truly believes that every individual has the capacity for betterment, and strives to empower others to find their healthy healing path.
She is a talented, creative and entrepreneurial individual, with a wide range of experience in everything from marketing, to non-profit, to being a chef. Though her previous education was in web and graphic design, she is now passionately working towards her degree in social work, hoping to specialize in mental health and addictions. Her inspirational presence and leadership has seen her employed as a motivational speaker. As a strong community advocate, she has completed marketing, fundraising, and helps to raise global awareness for various initiatives.
Her practice comes from a place of empathy that is grounded in a religious understanding. She is open to exploring LGQB+ issues with clients who are seeking ways to navigate this. She has a passion for working with children and her calm approach is often described as a child ‘whisperer’. Her quiet, perceptively intuitive presence, appreciates the difficulties some have opening up. Respecting the inner introvert, she offers a respectful space of understanding and can help clients empower this part of their life changes.
As a passionate advocate for ending childhood sexual abuse, Ainslie is one of a few Stewards of the Children facilitators on Vancouver Island. She is available to conduct group training for child care professionals as well as community groups.
